FPOA ArchitectureArrix FPOA Interconnect

The Field Programmable Object Array (or FPOA) contains hundreds of heterogeneous, medium-grained processing elements called “objects”.  Each of these objects is interconnected by multiple 16 bit data and 5 bit control paths that operate at speeds up to 1 GHz.  Multiple objects can be cascaded to create wider data paths while maintaining 1 GHz operation. Each object has its own program and data memories and operates without the aid of global control.  Within the array, the data paths and control paths are loosely coupled and independently configured. FPOA Silicon Devices

Our flagship product is the MathStar™ Arrix™ Field Programmable Object Array (FPOA). FPOAs are field
re-programmable devices made up of hundreds of very high-performance, medium-grained “objects”.  These objects are 16 bit configurable machines, such as an Arithmetic Logic Units (ALU), Multiply-Accumulators (MAC), or Register Files (RF). Each object operates deterministically at 1 GHz and is attached to the object array via a multitude of 1 GHz programmable interconnect. This powerful device can operate at speeds up to 1 GHz and can be programmed to serve a number of useful functions. The Arrix Family supports 400 programmable objects, 64 bits of high-speed LVDS I/O, 96 general purpose I/O and two independent external memory interfaces. Learn More

FPOA Development Kits

The Arrix MS2400D Development System is a fully integrated PC that contains the high-performance Arrix Field Programmable Object Array™ (FPOA) on a PCI form factor development board and tools. This allows for accelerated algorithm development, prototyping, and system development. Often an application or algorithm can be designed with the FPOA Tool Suite and tested on hardware well in advance of designing the actual product.
